 Harmony With Nature

The public is invited to the 18th Annual TOWARD HARMONY WITH NATURE Conference, a day-long seminar on native landscaping presented by Wild Ones Fox Valley Area on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Oshkosh Convention Center.  This is an all-day conference on natural landscapes and native plants. It is of interest to anyone (homeowners, gardeners, landscapers, teachers, ecologists, municipal leaders, wildlife enthusiasts, birders, etc), who wants to learn more about creating healthy natural yards and the positive effect on our ecosystems and our general health from using native plants.  Even the smallest yard CAN make a difference -- learn how to increase biodiversity, heal your piece of the Earth and add to the quality of your life.

Keynote speaker Doug Tallamy, Ph.D., Professor and Chair of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware will present “The Vital New Role of the Suburban/Urban Garden” in two parts.  His award winning book, Bringing Nature Home: How Native Plants Sustain Wildlife in our Gardens will be available for purchase at the conference where he will endorse his book and chat with conference-goers throughout the day.

Six other speakers on the whole spectrum of native plants and natural landscaping topics, as well as vendors and exhibitors, and a silent auction will also be part of the conference.  On-line registration is available through January 22nd.  Walk-ins the day of the conference are welcome. Call 920-749-7807 for more information or go to http://www.towardharmonywithnature.org  On-line registration available at http://harmony18.eventbrite.com/
